These 14 seemingly politically-correct words from our Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Tharman Shanmugaratnam triggered an avalanche of comments.
DPM Tharman made the comment when the People’s Action Party (PAP) revealed candidates for Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC) and Bukit Batok Single Member Constituency (SMC) at the Clementi branch office.
The team of 5 representing Jurong GRC consists of Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Desmond Lee, Ang Wei Neng, and new faces Rahayu Mahzan and Tan Wu Meng. David Ong will be contesting in Bukit Batok SMC.
Each candidate gave a speech on their main concerns, with the DPM referring to his “better Singapore”.
