Good Vibes Festival Set For 4th Event This August
While Singapore is not blessed enough to play host to indie music bonanzas like Coachella or Glastonbury, a drive across the Causeway this August will give you a similar experience.
The Good Vibes festival in Malaysia returns for a 4th round from Aug 12 to Aug 13, and this year’s lineup is especially exciting, featuring big names like Kodaline, LANY, GNASH, Phoenix, and G-Eazy.
The Good Vibes Festival has actually been around for longer than you think. It debuted way back in 2013, featuring indie musicians like The Smashing Pumpkins and Modest Mouse.
However, along the years the festival has gained a lot of publicity and last year’s lineup contained many big names like The 1975 and Two Door Cinema Club.
If this year’s concert is going to be anywhere nearly as good as last year, we will be stoked.
This year’s festival is poised to impress, and boasts an impressive line-up.
Perhaps the biggest name is Irish band Kodaline. They shot to fame with their single All I Want, which was quickly followed by their album In a Perfect World. In case you missed their Singaporean debut back in 2015, they are back at Good Vibes for a performance that is definitely going to be lit.
The hugely successful American three-piece LANY also is making an appearance this year at Good Vibes. Perhaps best known for their hit number ILYSB, the band has over 3.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify. It has also toured with music mammoths like Halsey, Troye Sivan and Ellie Goulding.
Hailing from LA, GNASH is a hugely popular music producer and DJ. The superstar got his big break with a remix of OT.Genasis track CoCo, and soared the charts with his top song i hate u, i love u. The song has over 515 million listeners on Spotify and GNASH himself has over 7 million subscribers.
The line-up also consists of many local artists. The full slate can be seen here.
The tickets went on sale on Friday (May 5), and the early bird passes were almost immediately sold out.
For those of you who cannot go anywhere without your loyal friends #squadgoals, don’t worry, there’s a special “squad goals pass” with a special rate for you and your bros.
Of course, if you plan to get wasted and definitely need a place nearby to crash, or simply just don’t want to roam the streets of Genting Highlands at night, then you might want to pick up a room along with your tickets.
Heart Of Malaysia
The festival is happening at The Ranch at Genting Highlands, so you might fancy a trip to the nearby casino if you’re feeling lucky. Who knows, you might even win enough to cover your festival expenses!
