Henry Golding Actually Stays In Singapore, Does Muay Thai & Takes Amazing Portraits Of Singaporeans

Who is Henry Golding, the charming man playing Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians?

The movie’s official trailer was released on 23 April, and I bet a certain hunky male protagonist caught your eye.

Yes, we’re talking about Henry Golding, who lives in Singapore btw.

If you haven’t watched it, let him catch your eye again here:

Don’t know much about him? We’re here to change that.

Here are 8 fun facts so you can get to know the English-Malaysian Singapore resident for real.

1. He’s married to Liv Lo

A moment of silence for hopeful girls, this man is taken.

He wedded Liv Lo, an Italian-Taiwanese TV presenter and yoga instructor, on 20 Aug 2016 in Kuching, Sarawak.

The pair met each other for the first time on 1 Jan 2011 at Filter Members Club.

Now Ed Sheeran, who said that the club ain’t the best place to find love, clearly hasn’t met these love birds.

2. He lived in Terengganu, Malaysia

The Malaysian-British lived in Terengganu until the age of 7, following which his family moved to England.

His mother is of Iban ancestry and father is English.

Before getting married, Golding undertook the bejalai – the Iban rite of passage into manhood – in the wilderness of Borneo.

He filmed his entire journey by himself as featured on Surviving Borneo on Discovery Channel Asia below.

3. He’s good with babies

Can we please be honest for a second?

There’s nothing hotter than a guy with a dog — other than a guy with a baby.

Especially when they can make the baby laugh like this.

We can’t tell if we’re looking at Henry Golding’s feed or Humans of Singapore.

These portraits taken by him are stunning and reflective of everyday Singaporean life.

Instagram game on point.

5. He’s a record breaker

Henry and fellow Singaporean baking enthusiasts came together to make the largest Chinese character from freshly baked pineapple tarts.

The final product was truly something to marvel at.

Now I know how I’ll be celebrating the next Chinese New Year.

6. He got to act alongside Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick

Hollywood A-listers Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick have no idea how lucky they are to be able to co-star alongside Henry in thriller movie A Simple Favour.

Just kidding.

A Simple Favour began filming in August 2017, with Henry playing Blake Lively’s husband.

7. He does yoga, Muay Thai and surfs

Name a sport; he probably did it before.

He’s been through some seriously tough Muay Thai training.

He protecc, but he also attacc.

Don’t mess with the man who wakes up at 5am to run 5km.

Henry proves that men shouldn’t shy away from ‘feminine’ exercises like yoga too.

And it sure looks like sea sports aren’t too daunting of a venture for the man either.

Hollywood’s latest starlet

Henry, though inhumanly gorgeous, seems like a really down-to-earth guy.

Perhaps we’d run into the starlet one day at a hawker centre or at a park, who knows?

Mark your calendars, Crazy Rich Asians hits the big screens on 16 August 2018 and we’re so psyched for its release.

most cutting thing you can say is "who's this clown?" because it implies they're a) a clown & b) not even one of the better-known clowns
