IKEA Alexandra’s Relaunch Celebration
Diehard fans of IKEA’s chicken wings might be feeling a little lost right now, especially since the popular item has been off the menu since May 23.
But the Swedish furniture retailer has decided to spread some cheer this fasting month.
Nope, the highly sought-after chicken wings aren’t back just yet *cue monumental sigh*, but there will be a host of promotions and offers this month that cater to both non-Muslims and Muslims.
For starters, both IKEA outlets in Singapore will operate till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
IKEA Alexandra will also be celebrating the return of its Bistro & Swedish Food Market on Saturday (June 10).
There’ll be a 90% discount on curry puffs — and customers will be able to pick up a piece for a mere 10 cents instead of the usual price of $1.
Probably to ensure that kiasu Singaporeans don’t buy up all the stock, each customer will be limited to just 10 pieces (while stocks last).
This offer is only available at IKEA Alexandra’s bistro on Saturday (June 10) from 10am onwards.
IKEA Alexandra’s Swedish Food Market will be having promotions throughout the day as well.
From 10am to 12pm, there will be a buy-1-get-1-free offer on marinated salmon. Customers are limited to 6 packets per transaction.
From 12pm to 2pm: A jar of chocolate butterscotch spread (400g) will go for $1.90 instead of $4.90.
From 2pm to 4pm: A packet of 3 lingonberry drinks (200ml) will cost $2 instead of $3.
From 4pm to 6pm: Smoked salmon loin will be on offer for $15 rather than $21.90.
But those of you who prefer to head to the larger IKEA Tampines instead, don’t fret, it isn’t left out from the celebrations either.
Our Muslim friends can have their iftar at IKEA Tampines Buffet Istimewa — an all-you-can-eat buffet that lasts for 3 hours.
IKEA’s renowned meatballs and mashed potatoes will be served alongside traditional food such as Rendang Goreng, Rainbow Kueh Lapis and Maggi Mamak Goreng.
However, the buffet is limited to 200 people daily.
IKEA Tampines Buffet Istimewa
Date: June 12 to 16, June 19 to 22
Time: 7pm to 10pm (last order 9.30pm)
Price: $19.90 (adults), $9.90 (kids aged from 4 to 12). Kids younger than 4 eat for free.
Cut-Price Halal Food
If a buffet is just too much to break fast to, IKEA Tampines will also be serving up a la carte halal food at reduced prices.
To make getting there even more convenient, shuttle bus services are provided between IKEA and select MRT stations.
From now till July there are also a host of promotions on offer.
Free Hari Raya activities and workshops, such as floral arrangement classes and cooking demonstrations, will also be conducted on June 10.
