Lee Suet Fern’s Photo Used In Ad

Here’s a story straight from the tales of the surreal.

While the previously hugely private Mr Lee Hsien Yang has suddenly become high-profile thanks to his very public dispute with his brother, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, it seems his wife has also become well-known, though we’re not sure why, how, or…..just what is happening.

Mrs Lee Suet Fern’s photo has popped up on Facebook in something totally unrelated to the 38 Oxley Road saga, according to this screenshot:

Yes, that it what it looks like.

It’s one of those ads you see on Facebook for a dating site.

The screenshot was posted on the Facebook profile of makan guru KF Seetoh, who was probably as perplexed as we were when we saw it.

That’s kind of surreal, especially consider that Mrs Lee is taken? And she’s the mother of 3 grown sons?

Copy-Pasted Photo?

Mr Seetoh compared the photo used in the ad to that used in an apparent Google search of “Lee Suet Fern”, and the photos were similar:

We don’t know what happened here, but do Facebook ads copy and paste their photos randomly from the Internet or something?

We Googled Mrs Lee ourselves, and it turns out that that same photo is used in her bio on the website of law firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius, where Mrs Lee was a managing partner until it was announced in June that she had stepped down.

Here’s a screenshot of her bio on the Morgan Lewis website that’s still up:

It Boggles The Mind

First Mr Lee Hsien Yang airs his dispute with his brother over Facebook, instantly becoming a personality that is on every Singaporeans’ lips.

Then his son Li Huanwu declares his support for Pink Dot over Facebook, instantly becoming a champion for the LGBT community in Singapore.

Now, his wife’s photo inexplicably appears in an ad for a dating site on Facebook.

His family and Facebook sure have had some strange connection these last few weeks.
