Muji Hotel Is A Tribute To The Chain’s Minimalist And Gorgeous Style
It once cost you S$40,000 to live the Muji way in the Muji Hut.
But now, everybody’s favourite Japanese minimalist chain offers the Muji experience at a wallet-friendly nightly rate.
Presenting the Muji Hotel, a 79-room establishment situated in the heart of Shenzhen, China.
Just look at it basking in its own glory.
The latest venture from the ever-popular Japanese brand opened on 18 Jan.
This beautiful concierge desk makes me feel a lot of feelings.
Did somebody order minimalism?
The rooms really do have the ‘signature Muji touch’: they’re earthy, homely and minimalist.
Perfect for the ‘gram
Even the kitchen amenities are in line with Muji’s plain and chic style.
I just want to dive into those sheets right now.
The fluffy duvet is like a sea of molten marshmallows.
Even the toilets are designed to make you feel like you’ve entered a luxury spa.
Feast on this
Wake up in the morning to a delectable breakfast at the Muji Diner. Access is complimentary with your room package.
What’s a holiday without a souvenir? You’ll be spoiled for choice with one of the largest Muji stores in China right at your doorstep.
Not only are there travel essentials but also everyday products, among them furniture, storage items, food, clothing, and cosmetics and skincare.
Sweat in style
For those who want to work out in minimalist style while still maximising gains, the hotel’s boutique gym doesn’t disappoint.
The hardest part might be focusing on your workout and not the interior.
The art of zen
Not a big fan of breaking a sweat? Then zen out in this spacious library.
The wood tones make us swoon.
Won’t cost you a bomb
Muji is known for having high-end goods alongside affordable wares.
Its hotel falls somewhere in the middle: a basic room starts at 950RMB(S$188.78) a night, inclusive of tax and service charges.
This is slightly higher than the average price of a decent Shenzhen hotel (S$70), but hey, you’re paying for a unique experience.
All rooms come with free wifi, breakfast and essential toiletries.
This is currently the only Muji hotel branch in the world.
The second will open in Beijing this summer.
Pack your bags
We wished they opened a Muji Hotel in Singapore too. But till they do, you’ll see us strolling around the Muji stores and wishing we actually lived there.
Die-hard Muji enthusiasts with leave and dimes to spare will be interested to know that a return trip to Shenzhen goes from S$226.
Sounds like a plan for a coming weekend?
Then pack us in your suitcase, won’t you?
