Grab car? Grab your next football legend instead.

Sam used GrabCar to get to school, and was surprised when his driver turned out to be legen (wait-for-it) dary footballer Noh Alam Shah.

Noh Alam Shah was considered as one of the best forward in the South East Asia before switching lanes to a become GrabCar driver.

We take a look at some of his career highlights.

Alam’s football career

Noh Alam Shah started his career with Singapore League (S-League) in 1998 with Sembawang Rangers, then he proceeded to join Singapore Armed Forces Football Club. In 2003, he joined Tampines Rovers and led the team to win the S-League in 2004 and 2005.

Alam Shah was also in Singapore national football team from 2001 to 2010, picking up the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship in 2004 and 2007.

One of the notable moments was when he scored 7 goals against Laos in 2007 AFF Championship group stage game. Check out his incredible performance here.

Alam Shah also played football in various other countries.

He played in Malaysia for Polis Di-Raja Malaysia Football Association from 2007 to 2008 and, in Indonesia from 2009 to 2013 under several clubs including Arema Indonesia.

What is he up to now?

Despite being recognized as a GrabCar driver, Alam Shah is technically still a football player.

He joined Tampines Rovers in 2014 and is still on their books. With the S-League season still currently ongoing, we reckon Alam’s just driving around for some extra cash on the side.

As chauffeur or playing for the Tampines Rovers, Noh Alam Shah remains a local hero.
