Elections lai liao lai liao…

…with Nomination Day just FOUR days away!

Before checking out today’s edition of Politics In 5 Minutes, you may want to check out yesterday’s here.

Done? Okay come back.

So today… this is what the various parties are up to:

People’s Action Party

Today, PAP has finally unveiled their team for the Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC) and here are 5 quotes from their five-man team.

Although busy with the announcements of candidates, they never fail to forget to cater to our tech savvy ah gongs and ah mas by providing infographics in Chinese.

Yesterday, PAP posted an infographic about the addition of 30 MRT stations come 2020. But of course, they haven’t forgotten about the buses:

First-time mummy Tin Pei Ling, who recently gave birth to a baby boy, had this to say…

While Lee Hsien Loong shares photos of Ang Mo Kio GRC’s candidates, proposers, seconders, and assentors completing their nominations papers yesterday evening at Teck Ghee branch.

And Social and Family Development Minister Tan Chuan-Jin was busy distributing lunch to residents.

Workers’ Party

Today, WP unveiled another three candidates:

Yesterday (27 Aug), an email alleging that Daniel Goh had an extra-marital affair with a former student was sent to various media outlets and WP’s Secretary-General Low Thia Khiang and Chairperson Sylvia Lim.

Daniel Goh has since filed a police report.

And continued updating on the matter on Facebook.

Fortunately for Goh, his supportive wife seems to have faith in him and sent him this epic message.

Democratic Progressive Party

DPP’s Chia Ser Lin talks about his observations of his neighbourhood, Toa Payoh.

Unfortunately, Chia doesn’t seem to be part of the rumoured DPP/SPP team for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.

National Solidarity Party

Nothing much, apart from Kevryn displaying her artsy side:

People’s Power Party

Will the White Paper materialise?

PPP is “dismay” about the mudslinging and spoke up for WP’s Daniel Goh. Uniting in Opposition indeed.

They also had issues with the new rule in the election handbook:

Reform Party

Always interesting to watch what KJ has to say:

Stupid MSM headline?

The sunniest party in Singapore also unveiled their AMK GRC candidates:

AMK candidate Gilbert Goh took to Facebook to express displeasure over the severe bed crunch in local hospitals.

And to update about the press conference earlier on.

Singapore Democratic Alliance

SDA on their manifesto:

Harminder Pal Singh revealed that SDA will choose the best 6 out of their 10-15 potential candidates to run in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC.

Meanwhile, SDA’s chairman shares about their manifesto:

Singapore Democratic Party

Meet SDP’s newly unveiled candidate: Damanhuri Bin Abas.

No, SDP hasn’t forgotten about the Malay community.

We see what you did with the green palette there.

They’ve also been actively doing walkabouts:

While CSJ randomly shares a video made by his children for his 50th birthday three years ago:

Singaporeans First

SingFirst unveiled their first batch of candidates today, and they are:

Tomorrow, they’ll be announcing their second batch of candidates.

Singapore People’s Party

SPP’s Facebook page was last updated four years days ago, which feels like eons in this crucial period. Fortunately, their members have showed some signs of life.

Ravi Philemon needs assentors. Anyone up for it?

Arrifin Sha also uploaded a wefie of the team after they’ve visited Pine Close’s residents.

It’s now exactly 2 weeks from Polling Day.
