Singapore Airlines’ New Safety Video Has Similar Concept To Other Airlines’

SIA Has Been Praised For Their Creative Safety Video

If you’ve ever travelled via plane, chances are you’ve ignored the mundane and technical safety videos that screen just before take-off.

Turns out, safety is kind of an important thing and airlines can’t be held responsible just because you were uninterested.

Which is why Singapore Airlines (SIA) has teamed up with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to bring you this brand-new in-flight safety video.

Wow, this is actually pretty good.

Plaudits

Netizens have also agreed.

Seen It Before

Kudos to the production team behind the video, which has great production values, but its concept isn’t exactly something that has never been done before.

In other words, many other airlines have done it.

Take a look at one example:

Qantas

Qantas Airways released the following safety video 7 months before SIA’s.

Seem familiar? That’s because the ideas for the videos are practically identical.

Highlighting the features of a destination? Check.

A demonstrating of safe instructions on anywhere but the plane? Check Again.

Check out the comparisons below and tell us you don’t see any resemblance.

But wait, Qantas wasn’t the only airline that had a similar video.

Middle East Airlines

Check out the one Middle East Airlines did, it’s actually pretty cool.

And check out the similarities to SIA’s video:

Video Power

Gone are the days where safety videos focus simply on actual safety. They’re actually part of the marketing strategies for airlines now.

Don’t get us wrong, the video itself is absolutely in line with the quality service provided and makes SIA infinitely more appealing.

Plus, it’s definitely a step up from their old safety video.

But if you’re about to start praising them for their creativity, I suggest you read through this article again.
