191 New Covid-19 Cases On 11 Apr, As S’pore Records 8th Death From The Virus

Singapore Confirms 191 New Covid-19 Cases, Bringing National Tally To 2,299 On 11 Apr

On Saturday (11 Apr), Singapore confirmed 191 new Covid-19 cases, and another death involving a 90-year-old patient.

We now have a total of 2,299 confirmed cases and 8 fatalities. Meanwhile, 35 cases have been discharged, meaning 528 have fully recovered.

Here’s an overview of tonight’s numbers, as reported by the Ministry of Health (MOH):

  • 52 are linked to previous clusters
  • 20 are linked to other cases
  • 119 are pending contact tracing.

8th Covid-19 death passed away 11 Apr morning

MOH announced that a 90-year-old male Singaporean has unfortunately, passed away due to complications linked to the coronavirus on Sunday (11 Apr) morning.

The deceased was identified as Case 1142, who tested positive on 3 Apr. He was then warded at NCID the same day and remained there prior to his demise.

3 new clusters found & other highlights

MOH also reports 3 new dormitory clusters:

  • Westlite Woodlands Dormitory — 8 cases linked
  • North Coast Lodge — 6 cases linked
  • Cassia @ Penjuru — 5 cases linked.

29 additional cases are linked to S11 Dormitory @ Punggol cluster at 2 Seletar North Link. With a total of 335 confirmed cases, it is still the largest dorm cluster in the country to date.

14 more cases are linked to Mustafa Centre cluster at 145 Syed Alwi Road, which has a total of 78 confirmed cases now.

31 patients in critical condition at ICU

In the meantime, 943 infected patients in the hospital are mostly stable or improving. Sadly, 31 are in critical condition.

820 cases who are clinically well, but still Covid-19 positive, have been moved to community isolation facilities.
