Earlier today (21 Mar), Singapore’s Covid-19 situation has seen a tragic development with first 2 deaths reported.
Now, this evening, another stunning total of 47 new covid-19 cases has been reported, bringing the national tally to 432.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), this includes 39 imported cases. The Straits Times reports that they have travelled to ASEAN countries, Australia, Europe, North America, and other Asian countries.
Here’s a summary of tonight’s latest numbers:
Out of the 432 cases in Singapore to date, MOH has identified new links in previously announced cases to the various clusters.
They found 8 more are linked to The Life Church and Missions Singapore. These cases are linked to another 23 confirmed cases, who are in turn, linked to the Grace Assembly of God.
Singapore marks a total of 140 recoveries as of today. They have been discharged from the hospital.
As for the 290 confirmed cases still hospitalised, most are stable or improving. Sadly, 14 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Today’s numbers are the same reported on 18 Mar, which remains the highest total infections to be confirmed in a day since the outbreak.
As more Singaporeans have returned from abroad in the past month, it is likely that this worrying streak of high numbers reported in a day will continue.
With so many countries around the world getting severely hit by Covid-19, do follow MOH’s advice and defer all travels for now.
This small hassle could save you from a whole lot of trouble.
