The Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) network of schools is expanding, with its newest member located on Bali Island.
ACS Bali will open in July 2025, said the school in an advertorial published in The Straits Times.
The feature, which was shared on Reddit, wrote that ACS Bali will be located in a new and modern “eco-development” named Kura Kura Bali.
The 500-hectare island “merges sustainability and contemporary living amidst a variety of marine environments ranging from picturesque beaches to lush mangroves”, the school said.
It’s also conveniently located 20 minutes from Denpasar International Airport, 15 minutes from Denpasar city centre and 20 minutes from major resorts like Sanur, Kuta and Nusa Dua.
ACS Bali Executive Principal Rob Burrough, who was formerly principal of ACS (International) in Singapore for eight years, said the campus “reflects Kura Kura Bali’s vision of a sustainable, inclusive community that fosters creativity, innovation, and collaboration”.
Accordingly, it will include a dormitory that’s open to students from Indonesia and other countries.
They will be able to access the “ACS brand of education” in an open and safe natural environment that emphasises sustainability and cultural engagement, he said.
Elaborating on the “ACS brand of education”, Mr Burrough said in his welcome message that ACS Bali is an “Asian international school”.
It caters to students interested in “an international curriculum in an Asian context” that combines academic rigour with a broad holistic education.
The special brand of education is also rooted in rich ACS tradition and guided by Christian principles.
Classes for Grades 1 to 9 will commence in July 2025, while Grades 10 to 12 will progressively open over the next few years, Mr Burrough said.
Like ACS (International) in Singapore, ACS Bali will follow the Cambridge International curriculum from Grades 1 to 10 and the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Grades 11 and 12.
ACS is not new to Indonesia, having operated a school known as ACS Jakarta in South Jakarta since 2015.
The new school in North Jakarta was still in its initial planning stage.
ACS (International) is expanding in Singapore, too, with a new elementary school next to its current high school campus near Holland Village set to take in students in 2026.
Meanwhile, ACS (Primary) will relocate to Tengah in 2030 and admit female students.
