Myopia is common in Singapore and many rely on contact lenses for greater convenience in their daily lives.
However, contact lenses can pose a risk to the eyes especially if the lenses are found with contaminants.
In a latest update to their safety information, Johnson & Johnson Vision announced that they’ve recalled 6 batches of ‘1-day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism’.

This came after news that foreign particles were allegedly found on the lenses in the United Kingdom.
Although there have been no complaints in Singapore, the company has done a voluntary recall of the lenses. This is to ensure the safety of customers.
Only up to 272 boxes are affected, and buyers of the affected products should stop using them immediately. Buyers are also advised to return them as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, those who experience pain or redness in their eyes should consult a doctor.
If you have the ‘1-day Acuvue Moist For Astigmatism’ lenses, do check if your lenses are affected. The lot numbers are displayed as shown below.
