Here’s Part II of her story, uploaded on Instagram last night (26 Nov).

Never stop loving Singapore

Kim began by thanking Singaporeans for their relentless support through their “countless kind words” and rousing show of “love and support”.

She shared snippets of conversations with people who reached out to her with similar stories.

And included a light-hearted take on the criteria for acceptance, like “maybe got height requirement”, set within an intimate scene with her boyfriend “shaking (a) steps tracker”.

Kim related how she felt about her youth, and her hopes for the future.

She continues to believe she “can do much more”, as she has tons to check off her to-do list.

Kim affirms that she draws support from loving Singaporeans around her, whether they are friends, school mates or colleagues.

She’ll also continue to indulge in “too much kopi” as a coping mechanism during hell week in Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media.

Having spent 17 years here in sunny Singapore, she thanks residents for loving her.

Reminding all of us once again why “we love this Little Red Dot”.

The little things that matter most

Kim’s situation has shed light on an often overlooked narrative — every naturalised foreigner’s journey in attaining Singaporean citizenship.

We’re thankful that she’s approached the delicate situation in a light-hearted manner.

And reminded all of us who are citizens by birth to appreciate the little things we already love about Singapore.

All the best for your exams Kim, and we hope you’ll be able to make your relationship with Singapore official soon.
