In 2017, Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced their plans to open a brand new MRT station – Punggol Coast – along the North East Line.
They have now confirmed the plan and that the station should open by 2023.
Some of you may have noticed certain MRT stations featuring their own sets of unique murals. The upcoming Punggol Coast station will be one of them.
According to an Instagram post by LTA, they are currently looking for artists to take part in the Art in Transit (AIT) programme, which invites talented individuals to enhance the aesthetics of places like MRT stations.
You can find more information on their Instagram page here.
If you’d like to unleash your creativity and display your artwork in the train station, send your CV and portfolio to LTA by 19 Dec, 12pm.
Here are the formats your file should be in:
Once done, email your files to lta-art@lta.gov.sg with the header ” Punggol Coast Station Public Call for Artists“.
Even if you’ve applied for AIT programmes in the previous years, you are required to register again.
Note: This application is eligible for Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
Having your artwork displayed across the walls of an MRT station is something to be extremely proud of. Good luck!
