A baby girl was found abandoned in a cardboard box outside a house in Membakut, Sabah, Malaysia early on Tuesday morning (22 April).
The infant, believed to have been born prematurely at around 36 weeks, was discovered with a handwritten note that read:
My child is in this box. Please take care of my baby. May your sustenance be blessed.

Beaufort District Police Chief Superintendent Wong Leong Meng said the discovery was reported by a man who was about to leave for work.
The witness had woken up at around 5.40am and noticed a white motorcycle circling the area.
However, he didn’t find anything suspicious at the time.
It wasn’t until around 6am that he spotted a cardboard box at the front door of the house.
Inside was a baby girl wrapped in a towel, along with several limes.
