New Therapeutic Gardens Open At Bedok & Pasir Ris Parks

Amid our concrete neighbourhoods, pockets of green spaces such as parks and gardens offer therapeutic escapes. Residents at Bedok and Pasir Ris can now enjoy such tranquility with the recent opening of 2 such facilities.

On Monday (28 Feb), NParks announced the opening of 2 new therapeutic gardens at Bedok Reservoir and Pasir Ris Parks.

As visitors follow the meandering paths, they are encouraged to practise mindfulness and meditation during the process.

Those seeking more physical activity can check out the fitness area that has various play elements like a xylophone, balance beam, and slider, according to Channel NewsAsia (CNA).

To top off all these exciting features, visitors will have a clear view of the sea from the garden, which offers the perfect, idyllic retreat.

NParks added that the garden is the first of its kind to be built over a former sand quarry.

Bedok & Pasir Ris gardens contribute to residents’ well-being

To promote the gardens to the public, NParks shared their findings regarding the benefits of such therapeutic spaces.

They cited studies which show that such gardens are a great help in treating depression and as avenues for self-care.

Therefore, they are targeting to have 30 such therapeutic gardens in different parks across Singapore by 2030.

Meditate at a park near you

Now that the 2 new therapeutic gardens have officially opened, Easties won’t have to go far to find peaceful escapes.

Bedok and Pasir Ris residents in particular can easily drop by after a long day at work to get some relaxation.
