Whether you’re looking for a textbook, a fiction or a food guide, you’ll probably want to head down to the Books Box Sale happening at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park from 8 to 16 Mar.
Rows of books across multiple genres will be waiting to be picked up. And you get to pack as many of them as you can into a box which you’ll need to pay only $50 for.
$50 may sound like a lot — until you realise you can fit as many as 63 books into a single box.
While there is no definitive list of the books being offered at the sale, the poster gave an overview of the genres available:
Don’t worry about the titles being the rubbish kind with stock images for covers. Previous years’ selections have shown ones written by acclaimed authors including Stephen King, Jodi Picoult and John Grisham.
For the business-minded or those looking to grow their knowledge, there will be books in the league of “Thinking Fast, Thinking Slow” and “The 80/20% Principle”.
There are also plenty of colourful, comic ones for children.
You can pack the books into your box however you like, but there is 1 rule — the lid must be able to close fully.
The rectangular boxes measure approximately 40 (length) x 25 (width) x 25 (height) cm.
In case you have your mind only on a single book, the sale won’t force you to get a box just for that one book.
Single ‘ala-carte’ books will be going for as low as $1.
The sale starts on 8 Mar and runs for about a week.
Better get cracking on that list of books you’ve always wanted to read but never bought because of the heavy price tags.
