When Wan Nor Fiza Muhammad Kamarudin received a phone call from her son at about 8pm on Wednesday (20 Nov), she did not expect it to be their last conversation.
Her son, 24-year-old Muhammed Danial, was killed in an accident merely four hours later at around 12am on Thursday.
“My mother is heartbroken because she can’t believe that was the last time she would hear my brother’s voice,” the victim’s brother, Mohd Sufri Mohd Nuzi told The Star.
“She mentioned that Muhammad Danial had sent her some money for expenses but she never thought it would be his last gesture,” said the 35-year-old.
Mr Sufri revealed that the victim was the eighth of ten siblings. Their parents divorced about 10 years ago.
He last saw his younger brother during a family gathering at his father’s place last Saturday (16 Nov).
“He seemed cheerful and smiled a lot, and that is the memory of him that we will always cherish,” he said.
Danial was one of four victims who lost their lives in a car accident in Putrajaya.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the car — which carried all four of the deceased — lost control and crashed into a dividing embankment.
The 24-year-old, alongside two others, died at the scene while another victim, a pregnant woman, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
