Pet Cat Sneaks Into Stranger’s Sembawang Flat, Refuses Food & Wanders Around Before Leaving

Adorable Pet Cat With Pink Collar Sneaks Into Sembawang Flat

Animal encounters in HDB flats aren’t common, save for the occasional pests like cockroaches or lizards, and perhaps birds that fly in.

But on Saturday (29 Apr), a resident in Sembawang chanced upon a cat that managed to crawl its way into her HDB flat.

The cat apparently refused to leave her house, and did not accept any food that she offered either.

Thankfully, the cat finally left her house after a few days, and hopefully returned to its owner.

Cat caught between flat’s window & grilles

On Saturday (29 Apr), a resident living at Block 313 Sembawang Drive was shocked to find a furry friend inside her home.

She uploaded a post in the Lost and found pets in Singapore Facebook group, hoping to find the cat’s owner.

Videos shared by the OP showed the cat hiding behind a curtain, as it stood between the window and grilles. The feline appeared stunned, as though it was shocked to have been found.

The resident noted that the cat had a pink collar around its neck, and was wandering around her house freely.

Even though the resident offered the cat some food and water, it refused to eat anything. Not only that, the feline allegedly refused to leave her house as well.

Netizens offer suggestions to help resident find owner

In response to her Facebook post, many netizens offered suggestions for her to try to find the owner.

Many of them suggested for the resident to let the cat stay in her home until she succeeded in contacting the owner.

A few of them also proposed pasting a notice down at the lift lobby to inform other residents about the lost cat, in case the pet belonged to any of them.

While it’s unclear whether the OP carried out any of the above actions, she updated in her post that the cat finally left her home after several days.

Meanwhile, a Facebook user left a comment today (3 May), claiming to be the cat’s owner and asking how they could retrieve their pet.

The OP has yet to respond, but we hope that they’ll find a way to reunite the cat with its owner soon, if the claim proves to be true.
