3 Cat Abuse Cases In Just 2 Weeks

They took to Facebook on Wednesday (20 Mar), urging anyone with relevant information to step forward.

Here’s the notice.

Can cause “serious and permanent” injury

According to the notice, 3 such cases have happened between 5 to 17 March this year.

These cases reportedly occurred in various estates across Singapore.

  • 5 Mar: Blk 94 Geylang Bahru
  • 13 Mar: Blk 224 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1
  • 17 Mar: Blk 304 Ubi Ave 1

In all the cases, coloured rubber bands were tied tightly to the felines’ tail, obstructing blood flow.

This, according to SPCA, can lead to “serious and permanent damage” to the cats’ tails.

In fact, one of the cats is due to have its tail amputated, as a result of the abuse.

Contact SPCA if you have information

The SPCA is currently investigating these abuse cases but has yet to ascertain if the cases are linked.

In light of these abuses, the SPCA will also be providing a $1,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the cat abusers.

Those with information pertaining to these abuses can contact SPCA at these hotlines:

  • Call 6287 5355 (ext. 9) – Open 24 hours
  • Email inspector @ spca.org.sg

Cats are living creatures, and definitely do not deserve to be abused.

We hope the culprit or culprits responsible for these cruel acts will be brought to justice soon.
