The driver of a lorry transporting cement died when the vehicle lost control and hit another truck that was parked on the side of the road on Saturday (16 Nov).
The other truck then overturned and crushed a car that was also parked on the roadside.
During the crash, the cement tank was detached from the lorry and hit a house 100 metres away.
The Central Perak District Police received a report about the incident at around 11.14pm on Saturday.
According to Chief Superintendent Mohd Hafizul Hilmi, the cement lorry was heading from Sri Iskandar to Gelung Pepuyu when it lost control.
It crashed into the rear of another truck parked on the roadside, causing that truck to overturn and crush a Toyota sedan parked in front of it.
The cement tank then detached from the lorry and slid 100 metres away, crashing into a house and destroying its courtyard.
The 32-year-old cement lorry driver succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Fortunately, no one was inside the parked car during the incident.
According to the police superintendent, the road at the scene of the incident was slippery and there was no street lighting.
There are also no CCTV cameras at the scene.
The police will investigate the case under reckless driving resulting in death.
Supt Hafizul also urged the public to contact the police or go to a nearby police station if they have any information regarding the incident.
