Choa Chu Kang may not be the most happening area in Singapore. But by 2020, it may just have the best sports facilities.
That’s not all! The massive sheltered pool will even feature new water play equipment and actual water slides.
Hold onto your socks as the upgrades don’t stop there.
Have you ever been so frustrated about your swimming sessions being subjected to the weather? Well, SportSG promises that there will be a sheltered pool in Choa Chu Kang Sports Centre by 2020.
But that isn’t incentive enough for the person in your clique who’s always saying,
Singapore so hot, exercise for what?
With a fully air-conditioned indoor sports hall, they’ll have no such excuse anymore.
Also, if you want to work your beach body, a bigger gym and dance studio will be available in 2021.
Moving away from Choa Chu Kang, Singaporeans can expect other improvements in fields all over Singapore as well.
There will be 52 indoor sports hall and 32 fields added to schools. West-siders can even look forward to 2 new fields in Jurong Lake Gardens.
Maybe the government really wants us Singaporeans to get fit.
There are plans for 9 new sports facilities to be added by 2021. Here are where these facilities are located.
North: Choa Chu Kang, Chong Pang, Sembawang, Woodlands
South: Mountbatten
East: Punggol East
West: Buona Vista, Ulu Pandan
Central: Whampoa
Older sports centres are also in the process of upgrading. New bucket seats and LED scoreboards are going to be a huge quality of life improvement.
Here are the lucky few being upgraded.
New year resolutions didn’t work? That’s fine, you’ll always have next year to try again. Maybe this time you’ll be more motivated to exercise.
