Anticipating a bite of her favourite coffee bread from BreadTalk, a customer ended up tasting something “funky” instead.
The woman discovered char siew inside, she said.
A photo of the product posted in Complaint Singapore Facebook group showed the bread filled with a moist, brown substance that didn’t look anything like coffee.

In her caption, the netizen asked whether Breadtalk had “a new bun”.
Instead of her favourite coffee bread, she got “coffee with roast pork inside”, she said.

She also claimed in a reply to a comment that when she approached the manager, he was confused and asked to take a photo.

The company had also not responded to her email as yet, she added.
Shortly after she posted, BreadTalk did reply, though, via a comment on her post.
The company apologised for the “confusion” and said it had reached out to her by email and phone but didn’t get a response.
It advised her to check her inbox and spam folder or drop them a direct message.
Speaking to MS News, a spokesperson from BreadTalk said they had received feedback relating to the incident on 14 Oct.
“We promptly reached out to the customer to understand the situation and offered her a replacement bread, which she politely declined,” the spokesperson said.
They added that the bread company has looked into the matter and found that the Coffi-O topping had mistakenly been placed on bread with a different filling, that is, a char siew filled bread.
“All kitchen staff have been reminded to ensure that the bread fillings are correct during the baking and preparation process,” they said.
