Though so, she spends her time largely in the school kitchen. She hence interacted with fewer than 20 students.

Ms Tan also stated that the employee already “minimised contact” with children, according to CNA.

Cook felt unwell at work

On 21 Feb, the assistant cook was at the pre-school and felt unwell at around 10am.

She subsequently left the centre to see a doctor and had been on medical leave since.

The employee was warded only yesterday (4 Mar) and is currently isolated at National Center For Infectious Disease (NCID).

Leave of absence for pre-school staff

The school is temporarily stopping operations from 4 Mar to 6 Mar due to a mandatory leave of absence issued to staff.

Furthermore, Ms Tan assures that another round of cleaning will be conducted. Prior to that, the facility was last disinfected on 29 Feb.

Though the Covid-19 situation is under control, we cannot let our guard down and must stay mindful of our personal hygiene.

Do wash your hands regularly and try to stay at home if you are sick.
