The Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) took place over the weekend from 7 to 8 Dec, drawing fans eager to engage with their favourite artists and creators.
This year, one cosplayer took fan interaction to a new level by offering an exclusive view of her feet for S$1,000.
The unusual offer came from Rurusama, one of Singapore’s most prominent cosplayers with 1.3 million followers on Instagram and 1.4 million on TikTok.
Alongside this exclusive fanservice, Rurusama provided various other interactions, sparking significant online conversation throughout the event.
Rurusama first announced her fanservice offerings on Friday (6 Dec), a day before the convention.
Three tiers of fanservice were available: S$20, S$50, and S$1,000.
For S$20, fans could enjoy 10-second interactions, such as head pats, hand-holding, or even a slap if requested.
At S$50, fans were treated to one-minute interactions, including a ‘kabedon’ — a popular anime trope in which one person traps another against a wall.
The premium tier offered an exclusive view of Rurusama’s feet under the table for S$1,000 — limited to just one instance per day — along with a strand of the cosplayer’s hair, “for cloning purposes only”.
The announcement of this offering quickly attracted attention, particularly from those sceptical of the fanservice interactions on offer.
Despite the initial skepticism surrounding the announcement, attendees appeared to enjoy the fanservice segment at the convention.
In a TikTok posted on Sunday (8 Dec), Rurusama compiled a series of fanservice interactions she provided to booth visitors, demonstrating that people were indeed willing to pay for such brief moments.
The video showcases the cosplayer performing a “kabedon” and sharing a Pocky with fans.
It remains unclear from her social media whether any fans purchased the exclusive feet view during the convention.
