A couple in Australia were taken aback when they saw a surprising guest — a koala — in their bedroom.
They captured a video of the cute intruder and shared the footage on Instagram on Tuesday (12 Nov).
“I was so nervous that I forgot my English,” the caption read, said the couple, who were from Brazil.
“I was scared, happy and excited at the same time,” Francielle Dias Rufino told CNN.
In the video, the koala sat nonchalantly on the bedroom floor while the couple panicked. It even took a long look at the couple before turning around and climbing onto the bedside table.

“Oh my god. What do I do?” the husband, Brunno, said.
As the caption suggested, Fran Dias spoke to her husband in Brazilian Portuguese while they were figuring out how to get the marsupial out of their home.
According to CNN, Brunno eventually managed to gently guide the koala out of their bedroom and home using a sweater and blankets.

At one point, the marsupial began running away from Brunno towards Francielle Dias, which caused her to scream.
On a podcast by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it was revealed that koala bites are a rare occurrence.
Koalas typically keep to themselves and only attack when they feel threatened.
In fact, they spend most of their days on trees, sleeping up to 18 hours a day.
Despite being listed as endangered in 2022, there is a stable population of koalas in southern Australia.
Francielle Dias even told CNN that she often spots the marsupials relaxing in trees near her home. She speculated that her surprise house guest may have entered their home using the pet door.
