The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 793 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (15 May).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Singapore to 26,891.
Due to extensive testing being carried out in dormitories, migrant workers continue to form the bulk of new cases. Of the reported cases, 791 reside in dormitories, while 1 resides outside the dorms.
Only 1 community case – a 53-year-old Singaporean man – was confirmed. However, the patient is currently unlinked to any cluster.
Otherwise, 99% of the day’s reported cases have known links.
2 clusters have officially been closed, with no associated cases reported in the past 28 days.
These are the clusters linked to McDonald’s and the renovation sites at the National University Hospital (NUH).

Meanwhile, MOH has also identified 5 new clusters. They are at:
1,275 patients were discharged from hospitals and community isolation facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,248.
This is the second time over 1,000 patients have been discharged in a day, and is also the highest discharge figure so far.
1,124 patients still remain hospitalised, with 18 in critical condition.
18,498 cases are being cared for at community isolation facilities, and 21 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 to date.
This is the 3rd day in a row where more patients have been discharged than identified.
The situation definitely seems to be turning in our favour.
However, we must not be complacent, lest we inadvertently kick off a second wave of infections.
