The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that as of 12pm on Wednesday (20 May), there are 570 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore
The total number of cases stand at 29,365.
2 new cases involve Singaporeans or PRs.
Meanwhile, no new deaths were reported, and the official death toll remains at 22.
As community cases have dropped to single digits in recent days, the government announced that the current ‘Circuit Breaker’ as we know it, will end on 1 Jun.
However, there will be no return to life before Covid-19, at least until a vaccine is found.
Phase 1 will last for at least 4 weeks, and some workers can return to their offices. Graduating students will return to school.
In Phase 2, more places such as retail shops and gyms will gradually open. Schools will also reopen for all students.
Phase 3, dubbed “the new normal”, will allow large gatherings to resume, albeit with restrictions on sizes.
Hopefully we can all keep cases in the community as well as dormitories low, so that the economy can restart.
