On Monday (23 Mar), Singapore confirmed a new high of 54 new Covid-19 cases, with 48 of them imported cases.
We now have a total of 509 confirmed cases, with 8 more cases discharged from hospital, meaning 152 have fully recovered. 355 cases are still warded, while 2 have died.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) also reported that of the 355 cases still hospitalised, 15 are in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The previous single-day high for Covid-19 cases in Singapore was 47, recorded on both 18 Mar and 21 Mar.
Imported cases continue to make up a large portion of the cases, with 47 out of the 48 imported cases on Monday (23 Mar) returning residents and long-term pass holders. They had travel history to Europe, North America and ASEAN.
34 of the imported cases had travel history to the United Kingdom (UK).
And only 1 imported case is a visitor — a 23-year-old woman from New Zealand who has travel history to the UK.
The 6 non-imported cases are unlinked.
Here’s a summary of all the cases reported on Monday (23 Mar):
As the number of imported cases continues to grow, all travellers entering Singapore will have to submit an online health declaration form from 9am on Friday (27 Mar).
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority confirmed the new policy in a Facebook post earlier on Monday (23 Mar).
This follows an earlier move to ban short-term visitors from Singapore. Hence, the order applies to citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders.
All Singaporeans and short-term visitors returning from any country already need to serve the 14-day Stay-Home Notice.
Residents can access the SG Arrival Card e-service via a website link here, or download the app on either Google Play or the App store.
They can submit their declaration up to 3 days in advance, so those arriving on 27 Mar should best do it tomorrow.
