11 community cases were confirmed, of which 2 are pre-school staff at Shaws Preschool in Lorong Chuan and PCF Sparkletots @ Gambas.

The community case break down is as follows:

  • 6 Singaporeans/Permanent Residents (PRs)
  • 3 Work Pass holders
  • 2 Work Permit holders

Meanwhile, migrant workers living in dormitories made up the remaining 631 cases.

2 new clusters identified, 2 clusters closed

MOH has identified 2 new clusters:

  • 28 Kian Teck Road
  • 121 Tuas View Walk 1

As no cases have been linked to Tuas South Incineration Plant (98 Tuas South Avenue 3) and 234A Balestier Road for 28 days, those clusters have now been closed.

927 patients discharged

927 patients were discharged today, bringing the total number of recoveries in Singapore to 13,882.

711 cases are still in the hospital, of which 8 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU)

16,452 are isolated at community care facilities, and the death toll stands at 23.

Community cases on the rise

Ever since MOH revised the definition of community cases, Singapore has gone from an average of 5 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 7 per day in the past week.

However, this is mostly due to the active testing being done in nursing homes and among pre-school staff.

Still, we should remain vigilant as Singapore is exiting ‘Circuit Breaker’ soon. This means that measures will ease slightly, and more people will be up and about.

As such, we need to practise greater caution as we start to enter Phase 1 so that we and our loved ones can stay safe.
