As of 12pm on Friday (5 Jun), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported 261 new cases of Covid-19.
Adding that to the tally, this means that Singapore now has 37,183 total cases of the coronavirus reported.
The figures include 11 community cases, of which 6 are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents and 5 are Work Permit holders. Also:
Of the 11 community cases, 8 are asymptomatic, but were swabbed as part of proactive surveillance or to verify their status during quarantine.
A 95-year-old woman is among the community cases, and is the family member of a prior case.
The remaining 250 cases involve migrant workers who live in dormitories.
Overall, 97% of today’s cases have links to known clusters, and the rest are pending contact tracing.
MOH has identified 1 new cluster at a dormitory at 781 Woodlands Avenue 9.
As no new cases have been linked to the cluster at Acacia Home (30 Admiralty Street), it is now closed.
The total number of recoveries in Singapore is now 24,209, after hospitals discharged 305 patients today. 307 remain hospitalised, with 4 in critical condition.
Overall, 12,643 are still isolated in community care facilities, and 24 patients have passed away so far.
The health ministry explains that the lower figures today is partially due to lesser swab tests conducted.
However, they did not elaborate further on this.
MS News wishes patients a speedy recovery, and hope they get better soon.
