At least 3 major malls & markets in the west of Singapore were visited by Covid-19 patients according to the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday (8 Jun).
Besides Jurong Point in earlier updates, 2 other major malls & a market were added to the list of locations visited:
MOH also logged 5 more entries located in Northern, Eastern and Central Singapore in the most extensive update to date. We summarise the updates below.
Additionally, 2 Giant supermarkets in Woodlands were announced as places visited by “infectious” Covid-19 patients.
In the central & east of Singapore, Tampines Mall, Tanglin Mall & a location in Marine Parade were included as well:
Besides the visit to IMM last week, an unstated number of “infectious” Covid-19 cases also visited the megamall earlier, at least twice in May on Monday (25 May).
The visits occurred on a Monday, once in the afternoon & once in the evening.
Taken in context of the June visit, IMM was visited 3 times by Covid-19 cases in total within 10 days.
The most recent visit on 3 Jun took the unnamed individual(s) 2 hours, from 7-9pm on Wednesday evening.
The public has been advised to offset their visits to avoid peak timings, weekends and to minimise crowds.
As SafeEntry is compulsory for customers entering supermarkets, MOH confirms that “close contacts” of these Covid-19 cases have already “been notified”.
For citizens who’ve visited IMM or any of these locations at similar dates & timings, do monitor your health for the next 14 days.
Heartland locations where confirmed Covid-19 patients have visited for 30 min or longer will continue to be made known to the public.
The list of public locations currently excludes the following places:
The list will be updated on a “rolling basis” to facilitate contact tracing & aid the progress of “epidemiological investigations”.
Visitors of these areas are reminded to see a doctor immediately if you develop any of these respiratory symptoms:
Patients should also inform their doctors of their “exposure history”, said MOH.
We hope that all affected patients will have a swift recovery and that everyone continues to adhere to social distancing cues & mask regulations.
As for those who had visited any of these locations recently, do pay close attention to the health & well-being of your loved ones in the next 2 weeks.
