On Wednesday (31 July), the ROADS.sg Facebook page shared a video of a collision involving a cyclist and a car at the junction of Paya Lebar Road and Airport Road.
Despite a red man signal, the cyclist continued riding along the pedestrian crossing.
He was subsequently knocked over by an oncoming vehicle.
According to ROADS.sg, the incident occurred on Wednesday (31 July) at around 7am.
The clip showed the cyclist riding across the junction’s pedestrian crossing, despite the traffic light signalling not to cross the road.
The oncoming car, which seemingly failed to notice the cyclist, then crashed into the rider, throwing him off his bike as he landed on a nearby curb.
A red vehicle can be seen pulling over to the side of the road, seemingly to assist the fallen cyclist, after which the clip ends.
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force stated it was alerted to the collision at around 7am that same day.
The 64-year-old cyclist was conscious when conveyed by the Singapore Civil Defence Force to Changi General Hospital.
SPF also added that the 61-year-old car driver is assisting the police with ongoing investigations.
