Cyclist gets knocked over by car while jaywalking in Ang Mo Kio

A cyclist was recently knocked over while jaywalking across Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 when the pedestrian light was red.

Another motorcyclist seemingly lost control of their vehicle and fell as they attempted to avoid the cyclist.

The cyclist was later seen getting up and checking on his belongings.

According to the caption in SG Road Vigilante’s post, the incident occurred at about 5.50pm on Tuesday (25 June).

In the video, the cyclist was seen making their way across the road just as the traffic lights along the perpendicular road turned green.

Although the cyclist managed to avoid the traffic coming from their right, they got knocked over by a car along the opposite side of the road, just as they were about to get to safety.

Another motorcyclist also seemingly lost control and fell after getting cut off by the cyclist.

The cyclist was tossed on the car’s windshield and tumbled off the hood — his bicycle and belongings were also scattered on the road.

Despite the collision, the rider still managed to regain his footing and check on his belongings.

Netizens say the cyclist was at fault

Most netizens who responded to the video thought that the cyclist was at fault in this incident.

 

This Facebook user claimed that the cyclist ought to be charged for disobeying the traffic rules.
