If you have been browsing the Internet recently, you would have surely seen a video of a car struggling to drive on a sloped grass patch next to a footpath.
Of course, of all places in Singapore, it had to be in Yishun.
Here’s a satirical take of the viral video:
In the video, the driver was seen driving nonchalantly on the grass patch before turning into an adjacent bike path as the video comes to an end.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The bizarre incident allegedly took place on Monday (14 Oct) at Block 201 Yishun Avenue 2, at the pavement near Khatib MRT.
It was already around 11.20pm when the man was seen driving weirdly, reports The Straits Times.
The driver initially starts on the side of the pavement but ended up cruising down the grassy slope beside it.
He eventually turns in and stops between two pillars of the overhead train tracks, but not before the person filming goes: “he’s crazy… where does he want to go?”
Turns out, the driver of the red Toyota car was reportedly drink-driving. The police have since arrested him.
Kudos to the police for their swift arrest of the drink-driver. Let this also be a lesson for all not to drink and drive.
If you know that you will be going to a gathering where there will be alcohol, make sure you have a sober friend as designated driver or call for a cab home.
It may feel sian to spend the extra money, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
