Most people would not go out of their way to help someone in need. However, a kind ride-hailing driver in Seremban, Malaysia, did not hesitate to help a sick passenger seek treatment, despite her only having RM30 (S$9).
The passenger, who goes by @mirzahiraa on Threads, shared that she is originally from Perak and lives alone in Seremban for work.
On 16 Nov, she woke up at dawn feeling ill “to the point of shivering,” so she decided to go to a clinic.
After asking personnel at the lobby of her residence for a clinic that was open on Sundays, she decided to walk to the location despite shaking in pain, as it was just nearby.
Unfortunately, she found the clinic closed when she arrived.
The woman then tried to contact her boyfriend, but he didn’t pick up as he was busy with work. Defeated, she slumped on the side of the road, crying as she began to feel worse.
She then decided to book a Grab ride to another clinic but worried that her money wouldn’t be enough since she wouldn’t receive her pay until the next day.
Upon arriving and seeing her crying, the Grab driver asked if she was okay and whether she was in pain.
The woman, worried about the medical expenses she would have to pay, asked if her RM30 would be enough to visit a private clinic.

They drove to a clinic, but after seeing there were too many people, the driver offered to help her find another place, telling her not to worry about the money.
The woman said this made her cry harder and expressed gratitude that, even without her parents there at the time, someone had helped her in their place
The driver offered to take the woman to a private hospital but she declined, saying she didn’t have enough money.
They ended up going to the government hospital for emergency treatment instead. Despite her initial concern that the intake process would be slow, everything went quickly and smoothly.
The woman revealed that before booking a ride, she feared having to book another and spend more money if the clinic she was going to was closed.
“The Grab guy not only helped from the beginning, but he sent me to the emergency room, bought me breakfast, and was ready to give me more money to spend,” she shared.
Additionally, the driver later called to ask whether she had been warded and even offered his help.

After the post drew attention, the woman revealed that the hospital had discharged her the same day and thanked those who had offered help.
She revealed that she was trying to get the driver’s details to reward him for his kindness, and shared that his Grab profile showed he was disabled.
The driver’s kind act touched many people, and they expressed that they wanted to send him monetary donations.
After the grateful passenger received his details and shared it online, she posted the driver’s message thanking the donors and giving them his well wishes.
Translation: Assalamualaikum to those who donated money. I am very touched by everyone’s donations. May Allah reward you and grant you even greater rewards. In Shaa ALLAH
