A car veered sharply to the left on the PIE and knocked off the side mirror of another vehicle moments after its driver was recorded yawning repeatedly, lifting both hands off the wheel, and using her phone while driving.
A video of the incident, posted by Singapore Road Vigilante (SGRV) on Facebook on Sunday (17 Nov), has since gone viral.

The clip, filmed from the rear of a camcar in front of the driver in question, shows a silver car following closely behind on a relatively busy stretch of road.
As vehicles move at a snail’s pace, the driver of the silver car, situated on the rightmost lane, can be seen yawning widely while looking down at her phone.

The footage then cuts to another angle showing the same driver yawning again — this time lifting both arms fully, with neither hand on the steering wheel.

Moments later, in a separate clip, her car drifts sharply left towards the adjacent lane. It clips a vehicle, knocking its side mirror clean off.

The silver car’s own side mirror is pushed inward from the impact as the other vehicle’s side mirror clatters on the road.

After the crash, a motorcyclist riding past slows down to stare at the driver after witnessing the collision.

According to the Facebook post, the incident occurred on 14 Nov along the PIE, before the Toh Guan Road exit.
The driver allegedly continued driving and exited towards Jurong Town Hall Road after the crash.
Netizens were quick to call out the driver’s behaviour — and crack jokes about it.
One eagle-eyed commenter claimed the driver appeared to hurriedly put her phone back into the holder right after the collision.

Another joked that she looked more awake after hitting someone.
