A drug addict in Thailand managed to break free from his hospital bed and attack nurses, as captured in security footage.
The incident took place on 18 Nov and was shared by a now-private TikTok account with the caption: “Who says nursing isn’t a life-threatening job?”
The user also claimed that the man attacked the nurse on duty.
In the video, a group of six nurses is shown rushing out of a hospital room.
Moments later, a shirtless man holding a bed railing appears, stepping through a door at the bottom of the screen.
He walks slowly in the direction the nurses fled, then suddenly sprints towards them, ignoring other patients and visitors in his path.

Thankfully, the hospital quickly coordinated with local police in Maha Sarakham, who were able to apprehend the patient and restore order.
Thai PBS reported that the 26-year-old man’s mother had requested only one of his hands be cuffed to the bed, out of pity.
Normally, drug-affected patients have both hands restrained to the bed railing.
In this case, however, the mother pleaded for leniency, and only one cuff was applied.
Unfortunately, in his frenzy, the man managed to tear off the bed railing and free himself.
According to Amarin TV, the family had brought him to the hospital for drug rehabilitation.
Following the incident, Thai PBS reported that the man has since been transferred to a different hospital.
To prevent future occurrences, the director of the hospital where the incident took place has ordered the redesign of the room where the outburst occurred.
The new room will feature a cage-like barrier to safely isolate patients under the influence of drugs, ensuring the safety of hospital staff and preventing further incidents.
