December is not just a holiday for the kids, but also a holiday for your cash cards.
Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced yesterday (11 Nov) that ERP rates across 30 gantries will be lowered by between $1 and $2 for specific peak hours.
The revised rates will apply starting 16 Nov and will end on 31 Dec. Since 1 Jan 2020 is a public holiday, the rates will revert to the regular ones on 2 Jan 2020.
Below is a table of all the ERP gantries that have their rates reduced.
The revised rates are likely due to there being fewer cars on the road during the December holidays. Which means a lesser need to regulate cars through ERP gantry fees.
Other than those ERP gantry rates mentioned above, all other rates will remain the same.
Meanwhile, as a heads up, LTA also mentioned that they’ll be reviewing the ERP rate next Feb.
It’ll be the first quarterly rate review of 2020. Here’s to hoping revisions will be as minimal as possible, so that grouses will remain few.
