By now, many families have already started prepping for Chinese New Year (CNY) by stocking up on mandarin orange and snacks.
If you find yourself panicking because you forgot something at the last minute, fret not. 114 NTUC FairPrice stores will stay open on 25 Jan — the first day of CNY. 82 out of these stores will close at 5pm.
NTUC FairPrice pointed out that this is the highest number of stores that the chain has ever kept open for the first day of CNY. In 2019, 110 stores remained open.
123 stores will stay open on CNY Eve, which falls on 24 Jan, till 5pm.
NTUC FairPrice’s 24-hour stores and the outlet at Changi Airport Terminal 3 will operate as per normal.
On the second of CNY, all stores will resume their usual opening hours except for the store at Macpherson Mall, which will reopen on 27 Jan.
Understanding that the leadup to CNY will likely be a busy period, NTUC FairPrice will be extending the opening hours of 51 stores starting from 15 Jan.
These stores will open till 12am.
Doing so will hopefully “alleviate the expected high customer traffic”, according to NTUC Fairprice’s CEO.
FairPrice Online will also offer delivery services from 24-26 Jan, between 8am-6pm, to save customers the hassle of heading down to the brick and mortar stores.
More information regarding each outlet’s opening hours can be found here.
We hope that everyone can celebrate a happy Chinese New Year with their loved ones.
If you forget to bring your oranges to bai nian at your relative’s place, head over to one of the operating NTUC FairPrice outlets so you don’t go end up going empty-handed.
