Christmas is not only a time of giving and receiving, but also of catching up with friends and family to spill the tea and just have fun.
But a gathering wouldn’t be complete without some food and drinks that are only available this time of the year.
We all know of a certain coffee chain’s special limited edition Christmas drinks, but did you know that NTUC FairPrice Finest are having some of their own limited edition items?
From brown sugar boba ice cream to limited-edition soft drink flavours normally only available in the United States, these items, only available during this period, are guaranteed to spice up your year-end gatherings.
Previously only available in the United States, Coca-Cola have unleashed 2 festive-themed spin-offs of their signature products.
The first one is the Cinnamon Coke, which infuses the smell and slight tinge of cinnamon into the quintessential Coke recipe.
Nothing screams Christmas more than the smell of cinnamon in the morning, and although Coke isn’t exactly a breakfast drink, you can be sure to get in the festive mood with Cinnamon Coke.
The flavour will be sold in 12-packs at $14.95.
*Available at selected FairPrice Finest stores.
Forget your Pumpkin Spiced Latte, Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite has got you covered.
For those who prefer the refreshing taste of Sprite and maybe less cinnamon, perhaps they can try this brand-new flavour instead.
The lemon-lime infusion mixes with the cranberry flavour and spices to provide a different, yet still festive flavour.
Similarly to the Cinnamon Coke flavour, the Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite cans will be sold in 12 packs at $14.95.
*The Cinnamon Coke and Winter Spiced Sprite will be available at selected FairPrice Finest stores from mid-December.
A special pop-up booth will feature both baked potato and yuzu soft-serve ice cream — no, not together, that’d be a less-than-ideal combination.
Fans who are more familiar with the Western variety of baked potatoes may find the Japanese variety no less satisfying, packed with sweetness and fresh from preparation.
The pop-up booth also features a brand new experience for Singaporeans: Yuzu soft-serve ice cream, for the first time, will be available exclusively at FairPrice Finest.
Normally served as a sorbet, the yuzu aroma and flavour provide a unique yet fulfilling tasting experience not often found in ice cream, fit for a sunny day.
Soft-serve ingredients are made fresh daily, to ensure that quality is maintained.
With ingredients imported from Japan, you won’t need to visit Hokkaido to get a Japanese White Christmas.
The Japanese Baked Sweet Potato costs $3.50 while the Hokkaido Yuzu Soft Serve Ice Cream is $6.
The pop-up booths will only be available from 7 Dec onwards and at the following FairPrice Finest stores:
The pop-up booths will not always be at the selected stores. To check where the pop-up booths will be on any given date, you can take a look at this link.
If you’ve heard the news about a certain brand of brown sugar boba ice cream in Taiwan and are already in the process of booking flight tickets there, hold your horses! Perhaps you won’t need to travel too far to get your boba fix.
Previously known for their boba ice cream, FairPrice Finest are bringing over AChino’s Brown Sugar Boba Ice Cream Bars, which promises all the goodness of your bubble tea in frozen form.
Plus, this is AChino’s debut of the flavour in Singapore, which makes this an occasion worth celebrating on its own.
Each box goes for $12.90 and contains 4 bars.
Every gathering becomes that much livelier when alcohol is involved, making it a must-have — if you’re of age, of course.
So why not try out Schneider Weisse’s craft wheat beers, including 5 different types, each with their own distinctive flavour?
The oldest private wheat beer brewery in Bavaria, Germany, Schneider Weisse is the premier choice for wheat beer – utilising live yeast and bottle fermentation, this way keeping its fresh flavour.
FairPrice Finest will be bringing them in for a limited time only during this period.
The exclusive beers are as follows:
Tap 1 – Meine blonde (helle) Weisse, 5.2% ABV (alcohol by volume)
Featuring an intense flavour with a shiny golden colour, the bright blonde beer promises to “[steal] your senses”.
Tap 2 – Mein Kristall, 5.3% ABV
This belongs in the special range, a crystal wheat beer without yeast that’s ideally taken as an aperitif, otherwise known as the “champagne” of wheat beer.
Tap 4 – Meine Festweisse, 6.2% ABV
Modeled after an Oktoberfest beer recipe and BIO certified, this refreshing beer named “Festweisse” is suited for festivities.
Tap 5 – Meine Hopfenweisse, 8.2% ABV
A limit-pushing experience at 8.2% ABV, the Hopfenweisse is flowery and full-bodied, and pairs well with spicy dishes like mala.
Tap 7 – Mein Original, 5.4 ABV
The OG of Schneider Weisse’s recipes dating back to 1872 and the quintessential Bavarian beer.
And in case you’re trying them for the first time, there’s a 5+1 sampler pack you can buy to savour with your friends – they come with a wheat beer glass to add authenticity to your pours.
FairPrice Finest have got your back when it comes to planning gatherings – liven up your party with these difficult-to-obtain items and your companions will be eternally grateful.
All items have been brought in limited quantities, so they’re while stocks last.
