After Giant Hypermarket at VivoCity closed down in Feb 2019, the mall at HarbourFront was left without a supermarket to replace it for about five months.
Word was that the new FairPrice Xtra hypermarket would open in Q3 2019, and finally on 16 Jul, VivoCity announced FairPrice Xtra’s official opening, filling the void left behind by Giant.
Spanning two floors, FairPrice Xtra should prove to be ‘Xciting’ for mall-goers, especially the snack section.
For those who know, you know why: Sentosa.
Other than that, Xtra outlets contain more amenities than the average FairPrice store, including electronics clothes, and much more. We go through some of these things below.
For those looking to satiate their fresh yeast-related cravings, there is a bakery within FairPrice Xtra.
Cakes are also available, for occasions where your friend is having a birthday celebration in Sentosa and you forget to order a cake. Please don’t forget to order a cake.
There is a nursery for what appears to be leafy shoots at the outlet, located in the Fruits & Vegetables section. Fresh vegetables for everyone! We hope.
You can even have an entire ‘Xquisite’ meal in FairPrice Xtra, if you prefer. Yes, there are sandwiches freshly prepared in-store as well as tables provided for you to enjoy your meal.
Pasta and soup are some of the other offerings here. Perhaps one can beat the lunchtime crowd by going to FairPrice instead.
Yup, you read that right. The ice cream in the store is housed in an Instagram-worthy baby pink ice cream van.
There’s no way you can miss the van if you visit – the sooner you find your ice cream, the better.
To celebrate the opening, there will be exclusive offers and free goodie bags will be given out for a minimum of $50 spend on a single receipt.
Meanwhile, here’s the location.
