A woman from Singapore died in a fatal accident while travelling from Singapore to Malaysia during the recent Deepavali holiday.
The 44-year-old Singapore permanent resident (PR) was travelling along the Yong Peng section of the North-South Expressway when the vehicle she was in collided with another.
Six others were injured as a result of the accident.
According to China Press, it’s believed that the deceased, identified as Ms Chang (surname transliterated from Chinese), was en route to Kuala Lumpur to visit her relatives when tragedy struck.
The 44-year-old woman was reportedly travelling in a Hyundai SUV driven by a Malaysian driver, together with her husband and two sons, aged 19 and 16.
At about 5.30am on Thursday (31 Oct), the Hyundai vehicle crashed into another SUV, causing one of the vehicles to overturn.
Ms Chang reportedly died on the spot.
Her husband and 16-year-old son suffered minor injuries while the driver and her older son sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, two people from the other vehicle suffered “scratches”.
