Though controversial, we sometimes hear about rituals or supernatural practices aimed at ensuring successful relationships.
One woman in Singapore sought help on Reddit because she was convinced that her fiancé had been placed under a love spell.
According to the post on 13 Nov, the couple were together for about 10 years until he left her for another woman from Thailand.
In her post, the woman shared more about their love story.
She said that her partner had proposed to her on Valentine’s Day this year, and both were prepared to settle after getting their Built-To-Order flat.

However, everything changed during a dinner date on 31 Oct.
The woman recalled that her fiancé appeared unusually quiet and uninterested.
“Seeing all the happy couples around us made me so upset, and one thing led to another, we ended up arguing,” she wrote.
Following the fight, her partner left her alone at the restaurant and did not return home that night.
When she did not hear from him for two days, the woman contacted her partner’s family.
To her surprise, they also claimed that they have not been in contact with him.
In her desperation to reach out to her fiancé, the woman discovered that she had been blocked.
Furthermore, his friends also played dumb.
“After a week or so, people close to him reached out and asked me to forget him and move on, without telling me where he is,” she wrote.
His disappearance left her crying for days and unable to proceed with her life.
The woman would later see her partner on Instagram at a Thai-style disco singing with a girl in his arms.
A few days later, she saw an email from Netflix saying there was a new login from Thailand.
When she visited his family home to ask for more information, only her partner’s mother was willing to provide some closure.
The older woman told her that her fiancé had found a new girl in Thailand and was living with her.
“She tells me to move on and not try to get him back as it will not work,” said the woman.
As her fiancé was allegedly never interested in disco clubs or heavy drinking, the woman believes he must be under some kind of spell.
She described the new lover as a married woman in her 30s who was trying to get a divorce.
The OP’s fiancé, who was helping her by hiring a lawyer, had also gotten a matching tattoo with his new lover — crowns with the words “my king” for her and “my queen” for him.
“I literally cannot find any other explanation why he would turn out this way,” said the woman, who is looking to counter the spell and win her partner back.
She claimed that this was her last resort.
“I cannot see myself moving on as long as there are still options available.”
While some skeptics have doubted the legitimacy of her story, other Reddit users have provided advice through the platform.
One netizen cautioned against dabbling in such rituals and spells.
“Please do not engage with black magic spells from Thailand, they have a far longer and richer history than what you can find in Singapore,” they wrote.
Meanwhile, another commenter told the woman that she was better off without such a man.
“Let’s not excuse his [bad] behaviour by assuming he’s under a spell,” said the netizen.
“Similar thing happened to a friend of mine but instead of a Thai girl, it’s a girl from Malaysia… It’s not too late to start over.”
