On Wednesday (16 Oct), a fire broke out at Northshore Primary School in Punggol.
A reader alerted MS News about the blaze at about 9.40pm that night.
A video she shared showed the flashing lights of fire engines and police vehicles outside the school along Northshore Drive. A fire alarm could also be heard.
Ms Chen Jiaqi (transliterated from Mandarin), a resident who lives opposite the school, told Lianhe Zaobao that she saw several fire engines and police vehicles when she returned home at 9.15pm.
The 42-year-old customer service officer also saw white smoke emanating from the ground floor of the building.
She also detected a burning smell, but did not see flames.
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a fire at about 8.50pm on 16 Oct.
The location was 30 Northshore Drive — the address of Northshore Primary School.
The fire involved the electrical distribution board in an office on the ground floor, SCDF added.
It was extinguished with two water jets.
