Resorts World Genting Durian Festival Lasts Till Sep 2019

We’ve seen hot dudes holding durians and kicked off the durian season, but the durian festivities are far from over.

You’ve undoubtedly feasted on the king of fruits at home, but have you tried them 6,000 feet from the ground? This hilltop festival located at the 16th floor of the Genting Grand Outdoor Carpark (GG Boulevard) will let you do just that.

Jumping from hawker stall to hawker stall to find different durian varieties may be leceh, but this time you might be able to catch ‘em all-in-one destination.

Genting Durian Festival fruits hail from popular Malaysian orchards

The festival will feature a wide range of durian breeds from popular Malaysian durian orchards:

  • Weng Fatt Orchard Trading from Raub in Pahang
  • Durian Republic from Penang
  • May Jie Gohtong Trading from Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands

Binge on XO, Musang King & Black Thorn durians

Many of us are self-proclaimed durian connoisseurs, but can you identify each type of durian? The festival is the ideal place to test your skills and feast on durian varieties such as Tekka, XO, D24, Udang Merah, Musang King and Black Thorn.

We’re excited to binge on the Musang King, but there’s also a lot of hype over Black Thorn variants that have a luxurious bright yellow colour and custardy taste.

There are reportedly 50 tonnes of durian available throughout the event!

You don’t need to be hungry AF and binge on durian on-the-spot. Visitors can pack their durian inside a vacuum-sealed packaging and carry them home.

Try Musang King cendol and durian coffee

Resorts World Genting has confirmed that Musang King cendol, durian coffee & durian ice cream will be available. While they haven’t released the official pictures of these offerings (yet), we took to Instagram to help you visualize what you’ll find.

Fall in love with this ice-cold cendol topped with generous chunks of creamy durian flesh.

Beat the scorching hot summer with this soft and cream-filled delightful durian in ice cream form.

A shot of cappuccino keeps us functioning all day, but we want to see the effect of durian coffee to our morning productivity.
