With the durian season and Phase 2 of reopening upon us, the timing seems relatively ‘ripe’ for Singaporeans to feast on their favourite fruit once again.
One person recently diagnosed with Covid-19 probably had the same train of thought and visited a durian stall in Geylang.
On Monday (29 Jun), the Ministry of Health (MOH) added the stall to the list of public spaces visited by Covid-19 patients, advising those who visited the location at the specific timing to keep an eye on their health.
According to MOH, Durian 36 – located at 608 Geylang Road – was visited by a Covid-19 patient last Tuesday (23 Jun) from 8.30-10.15pm.
The visit occurred just 4 days after Singapore embarked on Phase 2 of reopening.
Apart from the durian stall, a spa outlet in Toa Payoh, a mookata eatery in Bukit Batok, and Causeway Point was also added to the list. Here are more details:
MOH did not explicitly state which part of the Causeway Point was visited by the patients.
In addition to the new places, MOH also added new timings for 2 locations that were previously included:
You may refer to MOH’s press release for the full list of public places visited by confirmed Covid-19 patients.
In the press release, MOH also assured members of the public that those identified as “close contacts” have already received notifications.
That said, they urged those who visited the locations at the stipulated timings to monitor their health for the next 14 days, and to see a doctor ASAP should they develop respiratory symptoms.
The health ministry also said that there is no need for members of the public to avoid the place visited by the confirmed patients as they’d have already undergone cleaning and disinfection.
As more social activities resume as part of Phase 2, we can only expect more places to be visited by Covid-19 patients.
If you happen to have visited the mentioned places above at the specified timings, please be extra mindful about your health and seek medical treatment immediately should you develop symptoms.
