S’pore Home Baker Supports Mum’s Chemotherapy, Sells Nutella Tarts, Cookies & Honey Cornflakes

S’pore Daughter Bakes To Fund Mum’s Chemotherapy Treatment

With the advent of the Circuit Breaker came an unstoppable movement — the rise of the Circuit Bakers.

But as for Project Puteri Impian – which translates to ‘Dream Princess’ – a Singaporean home baker has a different reason for why she takes to the mixing bowl every day.

Ms Mira Azman began baking to support her mother’s chemotherapy treatment for a rare, late stage cancer.

Here’s how to lend the family a hand as they keep Mrs Azman’s spirits up while she soldiers on with tough treatments.

Home bakery supports chemo treatment

A week before Ramadan, the Azman family received news that their mother had been diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer.

She was then admitted to the hospital for a week, but the family was unable to visit or spend time with her due to strict Covid-19 measures.

That’s when Mira decided to start her home bakery to help fund her mum’s costly chemotherapy treatment.

100% proceeds help fund treatment

Mira shares that all proceeds will go towards bearing the costs of her mother’s treatment.

The versatile baker’s menu includes:

  • Nutella Tarts
    • Medium (32-36 pcs): $18
    • Large (44-48 pcs): $25

  • Cookies (Bags of 5)
    • Peanut Butter: $10
    • Chocolate Chip Nutella: $12
    • Hazelnut Caramel: $15

  • Cornflake Cookies (630g)
    • Chocolate: $15
    • Honey: $12

Each box is packed by hand and delivered by the family. A process that speaks to their dedication to the cause even amidst the Covid-19 situation.

A separate fund-raising page has been set up, which has reportedly raised a 4-digit sum for her mother within 8 days.

Home delivery or self-collection

Orders open from Monday to Wednesday weekly, with 20 delivery slots but they do seem to be filled pretty fast.

For future deliveries, you may sign up using a Google form listed on the bakery’s Instagram page.

Deliveries cost $10, and will be done on 4 Jun (Thu) from 12-6pm. Self-collection at no charge is available at Serangoon North area on 7 Jun (Sun) from 4-6pm.

If you wish to support the family, feel free to DM them directly. Orders will be confirmed upon payment.

All the best to Mrs Azman

Battling a late-stage variant of cancer takes Herculean will and Mrs Azman will require all the support she needs to emerge victorious.

We send our best wishes to the family and hope that this endeavour goes well.
