Lok lok – which means ‘dip’ in Cantonese – is comfort street food that’s widely available in Malaysia, including Johor Bahru.
Typically grilled and served from a van, lok lok is a hot favourite for their convenience and tastiness.
However, despite the array of Lok Lok vans in JB, it’s almost impossible to find a stall with halal options.
If you’re a Muslim whose interested have a taste of these skewers, you can visit Mr. LokLok just across the Causeway.
Mr. LokLok recently opened their first outlet in JB, serving halal lok lok with over 80 different skewer options, according to Johor Foodie.
So you probably can expect to be spoilt for choice when you’re there.
From the looks of it, Mr. LokLok serves skewers ranging from meats to vegetables, assuring us a balanced and nutritious meal.
Here we can see a variety of meat choices like chicken sausage, fried bean curd skin, and fishballs.
They also have broccoli and king oyster mushrooms to supplement us with a kick of Vitamin A.
Here comes the good news — each skewer is only about S$0.20 (RM0.80).
In addition to their wide selection of skewers, Mr. LokLok also serves our all-time favourite bubble tea.
Each cup only costs about S$1.60 (RM5), which is less than half of what we’d usually pay for our BBT fix.
They even have brown sugar bubble tea to curb your sweet tooth cravings.
Apart from that, you can also expect a series of crafted coffee to add an extra perk to your day.
Plus, if you visit Mr. LokLok any time from now until 30 Nov, you’ll get to enjoy their 1-for-1 drinks promotion.
